From hobby to dream, Jose and Kay left their corporate life to pursue other passions, amazing food and hospitality. They brought “out of this world” flavor and ambience to the OC, such as the unrivaled Costa – a contemporary Peruvian staple in Costa Mesa. For the last decade, Jose and Kay have been fulfilling life long dreams, to inspire others, unite the community behind passion and food, and leave a lasting legacy for their children.

Alan Sanz

Executive Chef Partner

Recognized as the Revelation Chef of the Year – Sanz has a passion for creating deliciously innovative dishes, combining traditional cooking techniques with a contemporary Latin flare. Sustainable, locally sourced seasonal ingredients drive Sanz to make each plate a worthwhile destination. Having served as Executive Chef at Gracias Madre – the award-winning Chef brings his rich experience and love for the culinary arts to Sueños.

Yen L. Wu

Chef - Vice President

Hailing from Lima, Peru where he mastered his craft in the culinary arts. Yen pursued his love for food by moving to California – where he worked his way up from line cook, to Chef and now Culinary Directing Partner at Sueños. Yen is no stranger to success, having won best LA Taco representing Puesto 3 years in a ro. Now Yen looks to repeat that success by brining mouthwatering flavor to downtown Laguna Beach.
